Seiko Prospex Antarctica Monster ‘Save the Ocean’

This timepiece is inspired by the landscape of the world’s largest marine sanctuary – Antarctica. The dial’s graduated colour and texture echo the white-blue views of the area created by light reflected on the ice, whilst the penguin at the 10 o’clock position represents the dwindling numbers of its inhabitants. 

Seiko donates proceeds from these ‘Save the Ocean’ models to sea conservation and environmental organisations. 

The shape of this watch is affectionately nicknamed the ‘Monster’ by Seiko fans - the bezel is said to resemble an open monster’s mouth baring its teeth.

• A stainless steel case and bracelet. The case measures 42.4 mm in diameter. A three-fold clasp with a secure lock and push-button release fastens the bracelet. The bracelet has an extender. 
• A Hardlex crystal protects the blue textured dial. The steel-coloured bezel is unidirectional. 
• Penguin silhouettes can be seen on the left-hand side of the dial. 
• The large hands and hour-markers are luminescent. 
• Water-resistant to 200 metres or 20 bars. 
• Features on the model include a day and a date display.
